Two Election Weekend Events!

Alameda Elections '12

We here at The Alamedan love Election Day so much that we’re celebrating with a pair of events, and we’re inviting you to join us!

Don’t spend Election Night watching the returns alone! Come to The Alamedan’s Election Party, on Tuesday, November 6 at Blue Danube, 1333 Park Street. Join Michele Ellson and the crew from The Alamedan and dish about the day’s races with other Alamedans who share your interest in Alameda’s issues, along with some of the reporters who cover local politics (and maybe a candidate or two). You can also test your electoral IQ by offering your predictions for the day’s winners and by taking part in our political trivia quiz, while enjoying coffee, wine and treats as the election results scroll on the big screen. The fun gets underway at 6 p.m., and admission is free. You can RSVP on our Election Party Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/events/264279820341482/.

Like the news and information you’re getting from The Alamedan? If you’re looking for another opportunity to get your political buzz – and to support The Alamedan’s coverage – come on down to Angela’s Bistro and Bar on Friday, November 2 for Friday Night Flights. For just $10 you get two glasses of wine from Santa Carolina – and the inside line on local politics. Angela’s is at the corner of Central and Oak, just down the block from the Alameda Theatre, and the event takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

We’re also going to be participating in Silk Road’s Rock the Vote voter registration drive, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 20. We’ll be on hand to offer voters our popular candidate cheat sheets. Silk Road is at 1412 Park Street.

And of course, you can check out all of our elections coverage in our Alameda Elections '12 elections center.
